Tragedy struck Chicago's South Side when an 18-year-old bike delivery driver was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday.

Damien gomez's promising life cut short

Gomez, a budding entrepreneur, was delivering food when a speeding red SUV plowed into him at the intersection of South Kedzie Avenue and West 63rd Street.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, Gomez did not survive his brutal collision.

A passenger in the red SUV, identified as a male in his 20s, was hospitalized in critical condition.

Police released a stock photo of the 2015 Ford Explorer, desperate for any leads in the investigation.
