Fastned expands european charging network with key leadership changes
The European electric vehicle charging landscape is undergoing a significant shift, driven by Fastned’s strategic expansion and a reshuffling of key personnel across its continental operations.
France and switzerland see leadership transitions as network grows
Fastned is aggressively targeting key European markets, with France remaining a cornerstone of its growth strategy. Despite maintaining a robust presence – boasting roughly 60 charging parks and €12.7 million in revenue last year – the company is streamlining its leadership. Pierre Courgeon, previously the dedicated Country Director for France, is transitioning to a more strategic role, focusing on bolstering operational efficiency while supporting further development within the French market. Sarah Wodehouse, a seasoned executive with a track record at BlaBlaCar, steps into the Country Director position, tasked with ensuring a seamless evolution from initial market entry to sustained, impactful growth.
Meanwhile, Fastned’s expansion into Switzerland is gaining momentum. Operating 14 charging parks since the end of 2020, Christine Zingg-Graf has been appointed Country Manager, leveraging her prior experience at SBB. This expansion is fueled by a concession package facilitating the deployment of motorway and urban charging locations – a move designed to capitalize on Switzerland’s status as a critical artery for European EV travel. Zingg-Graf's vision centers on establishing an effortless charging experience for both Business and leisure drivers, recognizing the increasing importance of urban centers alongside the highway network.

Denmark drives growth with targeted strategy
Fastned’s ambitions extend to Denmark, where a new Country Director, Jesper Krüger Søndergaard, will spearhead the rollout of nine additional charging parks alongside the existing three. Søndergaard, previously at Norbro Energi, will implement a multi-faceted growth strategy combining targeted tenders, strategic site acquisitions, and collaborative partnerships – a calculated approach aimed at solidifying Fastned’s presence in the Danish market. This underlines a commitment to disciplined expansion and sustainable market penetration.
The company’s continued investment – and strategic leadership changes – signal a clear determination to dominate the European EV charging market. Fastned’s trajectory demonstrates a focused prioritization of operational excellence and strategic growth, a combination unlikely to be disrupted.
