Bill McGuire, part-owner of Minnesota United, will lead the project. McGuire has invested in other ventures around Allianz Field and sees this development as a chance to enhance the Midway area's character while attracting more businesses and residents.

David Tolchiner, owner of nearby establishments like the Midway Saloon, is excited to see the revitalization underway. 'It's an effort for the whole community,' Tolchiner said.

However, some residents remain skeptical, expressing concerns that rising property values could displace long-time neighbors. Victor Martinez, who lives nearby, wants to see the community have a voice in shaping the new project's details.

'Pretty crucial spot in St. Paul, and so because of that, there could be so much use here for the community,' said Laichia Vang, a frequent user of the light rail that runs through the area.

In a statement, McGuire pledged to engage with the community throughout the development process, ensuring the new building respects the neighborhood's history and reflects its dynamic future.

The St. Paul City Council approved the site's redevelopment, with Council Member Molly Coleman hailing the swift sale of the property after demolition as a 'positive for the community.' The Saint Paul Port Authority plans to partner with McGuire to relocate overhead utilities, but no additional city funding has been requested.
