As police continue their investigation, Dixon has poured her anguish into a plea for change. 'I don't want nobody else to go through the pain that I am going through,' she said at a vigil, urging community members to take action. 'Let's go out in the streets, let's march.'

With balloons released into the sky and heartfelt prayers shared, the community offered Dixon a sense of solace. But their collective grief also served as a catalyst for change.

Dixon, who lost her other son a few years prior, emphasized the importance of teaching children empathy and understanding. 'Please start teaching your children how to interact with each other,' she implored. 'It's OK if someone doesn't like you. You are still a person.'
