Before their marriage in 2013, Gilbert claims she engaged in extensive conversations with Busfield about these past events. “I talked to him about it; I asked him questions about it,” she told Stephanopoulos, “and I was satisfied with what he had to say.” This declaration, delivered with unwavering conviction, has drawn immediate scrutiny.
Gilbert bristled at the suggestion of complicity. “I am neither naive, nor am I complicit,” she insisted.
