Residents safe thanks to working alarms

Lapeer County Fire Chief Mike Vogt praised the smoke detectors in a Home on North Lapeer Drive that provided the occupants with an early warning, allowing them to safely escape when flames broke out in the garage around 3:56 a.m. on July 24.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke and fire coming from the garage and immediately began extinguishing the blaze while others searched the house for anyone inside.
