Moldovan parties face dissolution for financial reporting failures

Moldova's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has taken a decisive step against three political parties for repeated violations of financial reporting requirements.

The CEC announced it has requested the Justice Ministry initiate procedures to dissolve the Socialist Party of Moldova, Force of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova, and CHANCE parties due to their failure to submit financial management reports within the legally mandated timeframe.

According to the electoral commission, 57 political parties submitted their financial reports for 2025 on time, while 63 out of 66 registered parties were required to do so. The United Moldova Party, Conservative Party, and Party of the Regions of Moldova were dissolved previously and no longer need to submit reports.

The six parties that did not submit reports by the March 31 deadline face contravention proceedings. The CEC has also sanctioned the Force of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova by depriving it of state budget allocations for 12 months.
