Washington authorities are probing a mysterious shooting incident that took place near the White House late Sunday evening.

According to a statement from the Secret Service, officers were dispatched to Lafayette Park, situated just north of the presidential residence, shortly after midnight. The agency reported that no injuries were sustained during the incident.

Despite the lack of casualties, a thorough search of the park and surrounding areas ensued. Unfortunately, no suspect was apprehended in connection with the shooting.

President Trump remains in Washington, where he is hosting a family Easter dinner at the White House today. As a precautionary measure, heightened security protocols have been implemented, Secret Service officials confirmed.

Initially, road closures were put in place adjacent to the park, but these restrictions have since been lifted. The ongoing investigation is seeking a possible vehicle and a person of interest, with the Secret Service coordinating efforts with U.S. Park Police and the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department.
