San jose man arrested on suspicion of murder in wife's fatal shooting

A deadly shooting at a South San Jose home has left one woman dead and her husband in custody. Police responded to the Don Seville Court residence around 6pm Friday, after multiple 911 calls reported a shooting in progress.

Officers arrived to find suspect exiting home

As officers neared the scene, dispatch informed them that the suspect had already shot his wife inside. Just moments later, police found the man exiting the house, taken into custody without incident.

A subsequent sweep of the home uncovered the shooting victim, who had suffered at least one gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were immediately administered before paramedics rushed her to an area hospital.

Tragically, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, being pronounced dead soon after arrival. The suspect, who has not been publicly identified, was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

This marks the 7th homicide in San Jose so far this year, a grim tally that underscores the devastating toll of violent crime.
