A controversial YouTuber has ignited a fresh wave of scrutiny surrounding the death of Dezi Freeman, the armed man who fatally shot two police officers in Porepunkah, Victoria, last year. His recent online postings – a series of videos documenting his exploration of the property where Freeman met his end – are now under police investigation for potential trespass offenses.

The videos, uploaded to his ‘The Chaos Chronicles’ channel, show Biff, as he’s known online, methodically documenting the abandoned Thologolong property. He’s filmed by an unidentified individual navigating the site, meticulously examining bullet holes in a ravaged boat, and observing a rudimentary camp kitchen outside a shipping container where Freeman was sheltering. Inside the container, the footage reveals a stark tableau: scattered clothing, a hiking bag, and a sleeping arrangement, painting a picture of isolation and desperation.

The events leading up to Freeman’s death began on August 26, 2025, when a search warrant was executed at Rayner Track in Porepunkah, resulting in the tragic loss of Det Leading Sen Const Neal Thompson and Sen Const Vadim De Waart-Hottart. Following the shooting, a seven-month manhunt ensued, triggering a massive police operation across Victoria and New Zealand, culminating in Freeman’s fatal encounter on March 30, 2026. The Victorian police commissioner, Mike Bush, confirmed the shooting effectively ended the pursuit, though the identity of the deceased remains officially undisclosed pending a coroner’s report.

Police are investigating a report of trespass at a property on Murray River Road in Thologolong on April 16. Investigators are aware of the video posted online and are currently examining the circumstances. The property owner has reportedly been cleared of any wrongdoing but has not responded to requests for comment. Beyond Freeman, the property had been vacant at the time he was found. Police are continuing to meticulously trace his movements from Thologolong back to Porepunkah, approximately 100km to the southwest.
Despite a $1 million reward and a concerted police effort, Freeman's fate remained shrouded in uncertainty for months. The investigation, involving over 125 specialist officers, ultimately concluded without charges against three individuals, including Freeman’s wife, due to insufficient evidence.
