Philadelphia teens return from life-changing south african adventure

Eight young women from West Philadelphia's KB Foundation have returned homeafter an unforgettable journey to Cape Town, South Africa. The trip, meticulously planned, aimed to broaden the students' horizons and envision their futures.

Wildlife encounters and historical landmarks

During their time in Africa, the group had the privilege of going on safari, witnessing majestic lions in their natural habitat. They also visited Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela, the former South African President, was imprisoned for 18 of the 27 years he spent behind bars after fighting against apartheid.

KB Foundation founder Kirk Berry emphasized that the trip was about more than just history lessons. It was an opportunity to inspire the girls to imagine what's possible for their own lives and futures.

The students' itinerary included a visit to PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they gained exposure to the world of global business. This experience, Berry hopes, will shape their paths and potentially spark entrepreneurial endeavors.
